The Simpsons

Matt Groening creator and executive producer of the simpsons and futurama. He first started of doing cartoon strips in over 250 newspapers. In 1993 he formed Bongo Comic Group, where he serves as publisher over the following: "Simpsons Comics," Itchy & Scratchy Comics, Bartman, Radioactive Man, Lisa Comics and Krusty Comics. In 1995 he founded and published "Zongo Comics," which included Jimbo and Fleener. Along with James l Brooks and Al Jean both executive producers to the award winning show The Simpsons has brought animation back into the lime light after being in the dark for so long. The Simpsons premiered as a half-hour comedy series January 14, 1990. Liked by critics and fans alike as one of television's truest and most hilarious portraits of the American family, the series received the 1990, 1991, 1995 and 1997 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Animated Program. The Simpsons have been going for over 350 epsiodes 16 series has definetly changed the course of television. In 1999, time magzane named The Simpsons the best TV show of the 20th century. Evidenced by the interest and success of new animated series which appeal to adults.

Joseph Plateau (1801 - 1883)

Joseph Antoine Ferdinand Plateau is born in Brussels on the 14th of October 1801. After the death of his parents the lawyer Thirion, uncle of the children, becomes his guardian. Because Joseph is ill quite often, he spends a lot of time in the countryside, where he enjoys drawing and collecting butterflies. He also engages in "physique amusante" or recreational physics. He builds demonstration apparatus, organises séances and astonishes his audience with the originality of his experiments.

DVA
